Making sure your system is serviced regularly is the best way to protect your property and ensure compliance with the current fire safety legislation. If you’re a landlord or business owner, you’re also legally obligated to keep your system running smoothly and carry out weekly tests. Under the BS5839-1:2017 legislation, service and maintenance should be carried out at least twice a year depending on your fire risk assessment.
Regular servicing is also a way to reduce false alarms. While this may not seem so relevant, false alarms account for more than 200,000 fire brigade call-outs every year.
