There’s little point in having a fire detection and alarm system in place if it’s not consistently maintained and in good working order. 

Making sure your system is serviced regularly is the best way to protect your property and ensure compliance with the current fire safety legislation. If you’re a landlord or business owner, you’re also legally obligated to keep your system running smoothly and carry out weekly tests. Under the BS5839-1:2017 legislation, service and maintenance should be carried out at least twice a year depending on your fire risk assessment.

Regular servicing is also a way to reduce false alarms. While this may not seem so relevant, false alarms account for more than 200,000 fire brigade call-outs every year. Not only does this needlessly incur a lot of expense, but it could also keep firefighters otherwise engaged when a real emergency occurs.
